Rumtopf Rum Pot
A delicious dish from Germany.
Soft summer fruit is used as it comes into season and added ever so often. This can be repeated throughout the summer. Very easy to prepare, as there is no cooking involved. 
It will keep for many month and is very warming to eat during winter. You  will also need an airtight container, either glass or glazed pottery.

Fresh fruit, non bruised, as they come into season:
Strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blackberries, peaches (peeled and quartered ), apricots (stoned and halved ), nectarines ( sliced ) etc.
Good quality dark rum
Sugar

  1. add a layer of fruit, some sugar and then the rum,
    make sure the rum covers the fruit
  2. adding more fruit, sugar and rum throughout the summer
  3. keep in a cool place and shake or stir gently from time to time and top up with more rum if needed
  4. Absolutely delicious.
