Savoury Witches Fingers
 

A savoury biscuit for Halloween

8oz plain flour
3oz of unsalted butter
5oz of grated cheddar and parmesan cheese
pinch of cayenne pepper
1 egg

For the fingernails:
whole almonds
 

  1. sift the flour into your food processor

  2. add all the other ingredients
    turn  on the machine and mix in short little bursts

  3. keep going until pastry forms a ball, do not overwork it or the pastry will become tough

  4. wrap and place in refrigerator for 1 hour

  5. shape into fingers

  6. add the almonds

  7. bake for 9-10 minutes

  8. Leave to cool on a wire rack

preheat oven at 190C

Bake for 9-10 minutes
