Divide bearded Irises
After your  bearded Irises have finished flowering, dig them up, divide them and replant them again. Use a sharp knife and cut up the roots into 3-5 in pieces with leaves,  which have been cut to half size at one end. Bear's Breaches (Acanthus spinosus )
Perennial
Mauve and white hooded flowers. A very beautiful tall growing plant. It needs lots of space and will grow up to 7 feet ( 200 cm)  high. Grows best in rich well drained soil in full sun.


Hydrangea (macrophylla) Shrub
Easy to grow shrub, color depends on the soil. Blue for acid soil and pink for alkaline.
If one feeds the alkaline soil with a special feed the Hydrangea will turn blue.
Height 5 ft. (150cm )
Plant in sun or shade.

(Scropbulariaceae)
Evergreen flowering shrubs. Best grown in frost free areas.
There are over 100 varieties, and come in different heights.

Monkshood 
(Aconitum napellus )
Perennial
monkshood resemble Delphiniums with their dark violet-blue flowers.
The tuberous roots are very poisonous and  used to make ointment.

Plant in moist soil in light shade


Astilbe (arendsii ) 
Perennial
Astilbe grow  best in light shade in fertile moist soil.
Look very good around pools and streams.
Divide and replant every 3 years. Keep well watered in hot weather.
Height 2-3 ft (80- 100 cm ).
Plant in light shade.

(Cistaceae)
Evergreen Shrub.
Flowers are single rose-like.
Some varieties start flowering in April-May. 
Will bloom  for 2-3 month.
Shrubs vary in height from 
12 in - 8 feet (40 cm- 200 cm)
Plant in full sun.


Lavatera Mallow
(Malvaceae)

The 2 in (5 cm) flowers are hibiscus-like.
