Lily of the Nile
or African lily
( Agapanthus )

Perennial,  
A stunning  bulbous plant, which stands out best if grown on its own, either in tubs or flower beds.
Height:2-3 ft.
Plant in sunny and sheltered position.


Helenium autumnale
Perennial
Very robust flower. Looks best when grown with white flowers.
Height:2-3 ft.
Plant in full sun or light shade in ordinary soil.


Crocosmia
Perennial
A bulbous plant. The orange or red blossom flower from July to September.
Keep well watered.
Height: 2 ft.
Plant in well drained soil, full sun and sheltered position.


Hydrangea, Lacecap (macrophylla) 
Shrub
Easy to grow shrub.
The dried flowers make nice decoration in winter flower arrangement, plain or sprayed gold or silver. 
Height 5 ft. (150cm )
Plant in sun or semi-shade.


Achillea
Perennial
Mushroom-like flower heads on long stems with feathery green leaves.
Height: between 2-4 ft, depending on variety.
Plant in well drained soil in a full sun.


Japanese Anemone
Perennial
White or pink flowers ,
blooms from August to October.
Ideally planted in semi-shade in fertile well drained soil.
Height 4-5 ft.
Plant semi- shade.


Verbena 
( bonariensis )

This one is a perennial, but it also comes in the annual variety.
Height: 4-5 ft.
Plant in sun in well drained

Crinum ( powellii )
Elegant pink or white trumpet-like flowers. The plant is best grown in a sunny and sheltered position. Not suited for cold gardens. Needs to be watered frequently during hot spells.

(chrysanthemum maximum) 
Perennial
Daisy like flowers which will bloom from July to September.
Height 2-3 ft.
plant in full sun in well drained soil. Divide plants every 3-4 years.


Globe Thistle

Perennial
Large round blooms on tall stalks, with jagged leaves, which green on top and gray underneath.
The plant is drought resistant.
Height: 4 ft
Plant in well drained soil in full sun.


Cosmos ( bibinnatus )
Annual
Sow under glass in early spring to plant out in late spring when danger of frost has past.
Staking may be necessary.
Height:2-3 ft.
Plant in full sun in well drained soil.


Convolvulus
This is the trailing perennial
variety. Annual and shrubby species are also available.
Remove seed heads regularly to ensure a succession of flowers.
Plant in sunny sheltered position in well drained soil.


Penstemon
( campanulatus )

Sour Grapes
Perennial
Foxglove-like flowers on evergreen foliage. Ideal for mixed borders.
Height:1-2 ft.
