January Garden  2000

At least there is some green, even so most of it seams to be moss in my lawn. This is one of my worst problems, the other being slugs and snails. As I like to be an organic gardener they seem to have a field day dining on my tender lettuces and lovely hostas.  I love my garden, but I must say that I am not a very dedicated gardener in winter.
Maybe by putting my garden on the web I'll
spend more time digging the soil and nurturing my lovely plants.
One thing I'm good at is making compost. I have always a plastic container outside my kitchen door and fill it with organic kitchen waste, then it goes onto one of my compost heaps. One for rotting down and one for adding the new kitchen and garden waste to. Lovely stuff.. Leaves are collected in a separate container as they seem to take longer to rot down and are especially good for acid loving plants.
