A garden in August
| Sunken Garden The sunken garden, baskets filled with pink trailing geraniums and verbenas, which will flower all summer and well into autumn. The boxus in tubs were started from small cuttings a few years ago. The campanulas have finished flowering and cut back to show off the old lions head again. |

blue Agapanthus behind.
Geraniums are easy to grow and
resistant to draught.
The majestic Lily of the Nile
( Agapanthus ) does best in tubs
in my garden, where it
can not be smothered
by other plants.
Simple looking cottage flowers,
like the Helenium and Margaritas
always look great.
