was supposed to have been born in Scotland 373
A.D.
As a 16 year old he was kidnapped by pirates and taken
as a slave
to Ireland where he was kept prisoner for 6
years.
It was there in prison he had his first
visions.
After he managed to escape, he went to France, where he
was
ordained as a Priest, then became a Deacon and was
finally made a Bishop.
He was sent back to Ireland to preach the
gospel by Pope Celestine.
St Patrick passed frequently through
Celtic countries, Brittany,
Cornwall, Wales, Scotland and
Ireland where he has places named after
him.
