Livingstone is a successful artist
and a force to be reckoned with.
Born in 1956 in Lurgan, County Armagh, he has never had any formal
training and has always remained a free spirit. Unfettered by fashion and
convention he is able to draw inspiration from the inexhaustible source of
the real world around him.
He is unique, multi-talented artist who is happy to work in any medium and
on any subject, from tight, elaborate and detailed painting through to
more instinctive and energetic works.
He is a romanticist that has even mastered computer technology, so from
one extreme to the other he has a passion and personal drive that marks
him as a true professional.
Few artist have been able to achieve the strength of color coupled with
the softness of light that he imparts to his work. Patrick has an
enthusiasm that is readily translated into a dynamic and fluid painting
which captures the true spirit and integrity of the subject without any
sort of compromise. He is one of the silent majority of artists who feel
that there is enough misfortune and ugliness in the world without them
adding to it.
For the last seven years he and his partner Regina have lived close to
Bordeaux in the South West of France. Immersed in some of the greatest
vineyards in the world, this relaxed and convivial way of life
has enabled him to look again at his own motives behind his work and has
spurred him to master the painting of pure light in a romantic and
pleasing way. He strives to paint beautiful things in a beautiful setting
and , most importantly, in a beautiful light.
