Oranges in Syrup Sauce


A refreshing and seasonal Dessert
serves 4

3-4 oranges, preferable organic
40g sugar
1 cup of orange juice
1 cup of water
1 small  glass of Grand Marnier or Cointreau

  1. wash oranges
  2. peel strips of orange peel and cut into thin strips
  3. boil the strips with sugar in the water and orange juice gently until it turns into syrup
  4. add the Grand Marnier to the syrup
  5. slice the oranges with the pith removed
  6. place the orange slices into a bowl and pour the syrup over it
  7. leave in refrigerator for at least 3 hours or over night
  8. serve with crème fraiche or yoghurt and a sprig of mint
